2. What data we may process

• account data, such as name, email address, date of birth, age verification, language and authentication details;
• profile data, such as first name, photos, place of residence or region, description, interests, relationship preferences and whom you want to meet;
• location and search data to enable distance, area, country or city filters; your exact location is not displayed as a public profile detail;
• interactions such as Likes, Top Picks, Spotlight, matches, blocks, reports and chats;
• NightCompass answers, progress and derived insights;
• subscription, credit and transaction status that we receive from Google Play; we do not receive your full payment card details;
• device, security and technical data, including IP address, app version, error and abuse signals, and trusted devices;
• messages and supporting documents that you voluntarily provide to support or when submitting a report.

3. Sensitive data and consent

Your choice of whom you want to meet may reveal information about your sexual orientation. Certain answers in NightCompass may also be sensitive. Where required by the GDPR, we process such data only with your explicit consent. You may withdraw that consent, but features that require this data may no longer work.

4. Why and on what legal basis

• Contract: providing an account, profile, Discover, matches, chat, NachtKompas, support, and Premium.
• Consent: sensitive profile choices, optional location, marketing, and non-essential tracking where applicable.
• Legitimate interest: security, fraud prevention, limited product analysis, customer service, and the defense of rights.
• Legal obligation: accounting, consumer requests, authorized government requests, and illegal content.

5. Chemistry and automated personalization

30Nights may use profile information, preferences, and permitted interactions to rank profiles and display a Chemistry indication. This is supportive personalization: it does not decide whom you should enter into a relationship with and has no legal or similarly significant effect. The indication may be incomplete or inaccurate.

6. NachtKompas and privacy between participants

The app displays progress and shared insights according to the mechanism of the relevant card. Answers marked as personal or private are not shown verbatim to the other participant and are not subsequently disclosed through chat or a match/mismatch label. Personal boundary answers are not used for the Chemistry indication.

7. Visibility and communication

Other users may see the profile information intended for discovery. Mutual matches can chat with each other. Chats are not intended for confidential financial, medical, or identity documents. Authorized support staff may access limited data when necessary for safety, a report, technical support, or a legal obligation.

8. Recipients and providers

We only share data when necessary with categories such as hosting and security providers, storage and content providers, communication and support services, Google Play for purchases and subscriptions, and professional advisers or authorities when required by law. The website is provided through Shopify, and app services may be delivered through Cloudflare. We do not sell personal data to data brokers.

9. International transfers

Some suppliers may process data outside the EEA. Where required, we use an adequacy decision, approved standard contractual clauses, or other legal safeguards. Information about the safeguard used for a specific transfer can be requested via our privacy contact.

10. Retention periods

We retain data no longer than necessary for the account, feature, security, support, disputes, or legal obligations. Profile and interaction data are deleted or anonymized after a valid account deletion, except where limited retention is necessary. Accounting and tax records may be retained for ten years in accordance with Belgian law. Security logs and backups are deleted or overwritten within limited operational cycles, unless an investigation or legal claim requires longer retention.

11. Your rights

Depending on the conditions under the GDPR, you may request access, a copy, rectification, erasure, restriction, or portability, withdraw your consent, and object. You may also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority. We may securely verify your identity.

12. Delete account

Use the deletion function in the app or the public page Delete account and data. Please note: deleting your account does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription.

13. Minors and safety

30Nights is intended exclusively for adults aged 18 and over. We remove minors’ accounts when we reasonably become aware of them. See also our Child Safety Standards.

14. Changes and contact
